What are Smoking Sucks®?
Smoking Sucks are a new, smoking cessation lollipop, especially developed by healthcare professionals, for those who have decided to quit smoking the natural, drug-free, way.
What is nicotine?
Nicotine is an addictive drug that can cause withdrawal symptoms.
Why am I addicted to the nicotine in cigarettes?
With the inhalation of cigarette smoke, the released nicotine causes first a rush of stimulation... and then relaxation. The brain enjoys this rush but quickly develops a tolerance and demands more and more nicotine to obtain the same level of pleasure. The more you smoke, the more nicotine your brain demands.
The pleasant stimulation and relaxation sensations that result when the nicotine drug is present in the body — and the unpleasant sensations when it's absent — can make smoking cessation very difficult.
What did the 1988 Surgeon General's Report on "Nicotine Addiction," conclude?
What is the main ingredient in Smoking Sucks that will help me fight my nicotine addiction?
Smoking Sucks contain L-Tryptophan, a naturally occurring amino acid, widely believed to help calm cigarette cravings as you try to quit smoking.
How does L-tryptophan help stop the cravings?
When a smoker inhales tobacco smoke, there is a rapid relaxation effect from the tars and nicotine. When L-tryptophan is absorbed sublingually (under the tongue) the uptake is also very rapid and therefore often calms the person enough so that they won’t need to reach for a cigarette.
What else about smoking cigarettes is addictive?
In addition to the addictive substances in tobacco products, there are several ritual behaviors that become part of a smoker’s habitual patterns.
What are some of the habitual behavior patterns of smokers?
Smoking behaviors that smokers enjoy include:
- taking the cigarette out of the box and looking at it
- holding the cigarette between the lips, striking a match or lighter, and lighting the tip
- the first, very deep, inhalation
- moving the cigarette in and out of the mouth between inhalations
- watching the way fingers hold the cigarette between inhalations, just as the taste and feel of the inhaled smoke is experienced by the brain.
- watching the exhaled smoke dissipate into the surrounding air
People who smoke associate both the stimulating and relaxing elements of smoking with these behaviors. These behaviors can become so ingrained that they actually become a learned response that feels good to smokers. The more these rituals are performed, the better the smoker feels. Unfortunately, these patterns are as much a contributor to smoking addiction as the nicotine itself.
How will Smoking Sucks help me conquer these behaviors?
We believe our Smoking Sucks lollipops can replace some of these unhealthy, learned behaviors with healthy behaviors in the following ways:
- Instead of taking a cigarette out of its box, a Smoking Sucks lollipop becomes the healthier object of this ritual as it is taken out of the box and unwrapped.
- Instead of putting a cigarette between the lips and lighting it up, a Smoking Sucks lollipop becomes the object of this ritual as your hands place the lollipop in your mouth.
- Instead of the first, deep inhalation of cigarette smoke, your first deep breath tastes the fresh scent of natural-flavored lollipop.
- Instead of moving a lit cigarette in and out of your mouth, your hand to the mouth action is rewarded with another taste of a delicious, sweet lollipop.
- Instead of sucking on a cigarette to draw smoke, you suck on a Smoking Sucks lollipop to draw flavor.
-
Instead of tasting tars and nicotine, you will taste our fresh, Smoking Sucks flavors which are intense enough to break through the diminished sense of taste often caused by cigarette smoke.
The more these healthy rituals are performed, the better they will make you feel. The better you feel, the more likely it is that you will be able to quit smoking for good.
What ingredients are in Smoking Sucks?
Smoking Sucks are made with only natural flavors and colors. There are no medications. Smoking Sucks also contain L-Tryptophan.
Why is L-tryptophan in Smoking Sucks?
L-Tryptophan, a naturally occurring amino acid, is widely believed to help calm cigarette cravings.
I know Smoking Sucks are delicious, but why are your flavors so effective?
Smoking diminishes a person’s sense of taste. All 3 of our natural flavors are strongly delicious so that they can be tasted by those trying to quit smoking.
What are the Smoking Sucks flavors?
Wintergreen has the ability to perk up the taste buds. The scent often causes a deep breath response due to it’s almost menthol-strength fragrance. This deep breath (yes, go with it!) mimics the conditioned relaxation response of the first drag on a cigarette.
Pineapple is a tantalizing flavor that also has the ability to freshen the breath.
Cinnamon, in its natural state, is intense enough to stimulate the flavor sensors under the tongue for an additional soothing effect. Some healthcare professionals believe that cinnamon may clear and improve thought process.
I heard that cigarette smoke contains sugars. Is this true?
Yes. Cigarette smoke does contain sugar and these sugars have a way of relaxing your brain? This may sound like a good thing but, while the sugars in cigarettes are not harmful like the tars and nicotine, these sugars are a major cause for further cigarette addiction.
Do all Smoking Sucks have sugar in them?
Yes. We at Smoking Sucks know that in order to quit smoking successfully, you will need to stay calm. That’s why we purposely decided to include sugars in our Smoking Sucks lollipops... but with a very healthy difference. Our sugars are all natural. So, they will help you stay calm naturally while you strive to keep the harsh chemicals contained in cigarette smoke from entering your brain and body.
I have type 2 diabetes and wonder if I can still use Smoking Sucks?
If you are diabetic, only use Smoking Sucks if your doctor tells you it is okay. Our lollipops contain carbohydrates. In fact, carbohydrates and sugars are part of what makes Smoking Sucks so effective for some people trying to quit. See our previous question regarding sugars.
You will need to speak to your healthcare provider regarding how many carbohydrates you can safely allow yourself. Always listen to your healthcare team. Each pop contains 10 grams of carbohydrate.
Do Smoking Sucks work for everyone?
Each person responds in their own way to any therapy and nothing works for everyone. However, we have many satisfied customers and you can read what they have to say on our website.
How many Smoking Sucks can I have per day?

Is there a way I can save money and still get my Smoking Sucks?
You are already saving money. Just compare the cost of Smoking Sucks to the cost of your cigarettes.
However, we do understand your concern. Please know that we use a special formulation of only quality ingredients, including all natural colors and flavorings. This causes our production costs to be more expensive than the common lollipop.
Also, we manufacture our product in the United States while many other lollipops are made in China or Mexico. This causes the costs to be a bit higher as well, but we are proud to say that our product is developed up to USA standards.
One idea would be to go in together with some friends and order five boxes, or more, to qualify for free shipping. Another way to save money is to use our online store locator to find a store near you. This will also save on postage fees.
When do you consider Smoking Sucks to be expired?
Smoking Sucks have a shelf-life of 18 months.
How many boxes should I order?
We recommend that you always keep at least 3 boxes of Smoking Sucks in your home AND office during the smoking cessation process... and don’t forget to keep a box or two in your car. You never know when you might get stuck in traffic and need a soothing Smoking Sucks to keep you from buying a pack of cigarettes.
Don’t be caught without your Smoking Sucks until the cravings have diminished.
We wish you the best and great success with your smoking cessation effort!
